Discover the little-known history of medieval Judaism in Strasbourg and its development until the 19th century. During this tour, which visits places where the Jewish community lived in the Middle Ages, before the massacre and expulsion of 1349, you’ll learn about the unique characteristics of Alsatian Judaism. The tour retraces the evolution of Alsatian Judaism through time, until the emancipation and re-emergence of the Jewish community at the dawn of the 20th century. On this occasion, the mikveh, the ritual bath of the 13th century, is opened exceptionally, together with the Jewish section of the Alsatian Museum.
